As from the 1st of March 2010 we will be winding up our retail project (Ferny Way Meats 'N' More) and will continue our focus on our internet ordering and home delivery services. 

The initial shop lease expires in May this year so we will still be offering the pick up service to local customers at agreed times until then.  The mixed store concept (Meat, smallgoods, fruit, veg and gourmet foods) was very popular with some regular customers but generally the product mix and pricing was not matched well enough to the demographics of the area.  

Further contributing to our decision to close the business is the current economic climate, customers in the area have had to stick to a budget and this looks set to continue for atleast another twelve months where quantity rather than quality is the necessity.   

The feasibility study has provided Ausco Foods with some new insights into the retail food business and we will draw on these experiences in the future.  Finally, the concept of ordering online and picking up in store was very successfull so we are looking into ways of further developing this side of the business.
